London is one of our favorite places in the world! We visited here on our honeymoon and have returned many times since for the fascinating history, Medieval architecture, and deep-rooted character that makes it feel like a second home.

While many parts of England are for the faint of heart, London is not one of them. It is a fast-paced metropolis that somehow combines the old world with the new and lives in constant contradiction of itself – modern yet traditional, humble yet lavish, rowdy yet calm.

Perhaps this is because many of the greatest minds have originated from London, and the city is brimming with stories! The Romans founded the area in 43 AD, William Shakespeare took over the literary scene in the 1600s, and the Beatles took over Abbey Road in the 1960s. Whether you’re looking for the royals at Buckingham Palace or Harry Potter at Warner Brothers Studios – you will find incredible sights and history in almost every corner of town.

Stop at the pub for an ale, peruse the upscale streets of South Kensington, and enjoy daytime playgrounds like Camden, Notinghill, and Picadilly Circus. London is known for having top-tier theater performances, and we loved exploring the entertainment hub of Covent Garden for shopping and shows. Soho is epic for nightlife, and of course, you’ll want to lead with the cultural gems in the middle of town like the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, and Big Ben. Since a trip like this requires some forethought, use our expert guides to plan the best holiday possible in England. You’ll find tips on what to pack, what to wear, secret hideaways, the best things to do, nearby day trips, and how to make the most of your time when London is calling!

Cheers!
