Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated June 2017

First of all, I despise advertising of any kind. Whether it’s sponsored content, pay per click ads, banner ads or paid press trips – I’m not a fan and will never use them on this website, ever.

The way that I do make money from this website is through affiliate links. These are links to products or services that I (or one of my contributing writers) personally use and recommend based upon first-hand experience. If you choose to purchase a product or service after clicking one of these links I will earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, so it’s win-win. Thanks in advance for your support!

The most common affiliate link on my website is for products on where it’s often labeled “View on”.

With that said:

I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to and affiliated sites.

Some other examples of affiliate programs I participate in are with: World Nomads travel insurance, Trip Advisor, Intrepid Tours, Agoda, Sky Scanner, Scott’s Cheap Flights etc.

You can assume that any external link on is, or could be, an affiliate link.

If you do decide to purchase something after clicking a link on my site, it’s a cool way for you to tip me for my efforts and keeps my site ad-free forever! Thanks again for your support.

This modest amount of money I make also enables me to justify the time I spend answering all your questions and to keep writing and offering my written content for free to you and your fellow travelers. I share these products or services because they are helpful and useful for travel, not just because of the small commissions I make.

Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.
