There is only one island, but two different territories and two different spellings: Sint Maarten of the Netherlands on the southern half and Saint Martin of France on the northern half. The southern half speaks Dutch, and the northern, French. The island, in total, is fairly small at 37 square miles. It’s located just east of the British and US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. There are lots of activities on St. Marten. Bring your beach gear, hiking gear, and party gear.
